Garrison Cadet College Kohat is spread over an area of about 85 Acres. The College has a capacious Academic Block for 600 cadets, six hostels, well equipped laboratories of Computer, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Language, a well organized Library, an elegant Administration Block and a tuck shop. A Bakery, Barber shop, cobbler, tailor, and laundry services are also available for the cadets. This Kohat cadet college has a beautiful, spacious mosque where 1000 people can pray at a time.

Garrison Cadet College Kohat

Garrison Cadet College Kohat is situated in the picturesque suburb of Kohat City. Foundation Stone of the College was laid on 1st March 1990 by the then Prime Minister of Pakistan Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The college was inaugurated on 10 May 1993 by the then Quartermaster General of Pakistan Army, Lieutenant General Muhammad Arif Bangash, HI(M), SBt. The regular classes commenced in March 1993. The first principal was Col Muhammad Idrees Niazi (Retd).

The college has a Dispensary stocked with necessary medicines and equipment. College Doctor and 2 non-commissioned army officers retired from Army Medical Corps looks after the health of cadets. The college has a number of playgrounds. These playgrounds are used for various games during the sports period. Regular Inter-House sports competitions are held throughout the year.

Garrison Cadet College Kohat Admission & Test Schedule:

Admission in Garrison Cadet College Kohat is primarily given in class 8, once a year at the commencement of academic session. Admission is granted purely on merit, basing on the performance of candidates in written entrance test and interview followed by a medical check-up.

The written test includes English, Urdu, General Science and Mathematics subjects of appropriate standard. Examination centers and dates for written entrance test and interview are advertised in the leading Urdu and English newspapers well in time.

Eligibility

1. For admission to any class a candidate must either be studying in that class or must have passed the last lower class at the time of admission.

2.  Age limits will be count 1st April for Class 8 and 1st August for Class 11. Moreover, the physical appearance of the candidate must commensurate with the age mentioned below:

Class VIII 12 – l4 Years   
Class XI 15 – l7 Years

Total seats for class 8 are 120.

Class XI

Limited seats may fall vacant in class 11, for which admissions are granted purely on merit. The dates for test/interview are advertised in newspapers.

  1. Admission Fee: PKR 20,000   
  2. Security (Refundable): PKR 15,000

Note:

  • Defense Personals will be given concession ranging between 30% to 60%.
  • If dues are not paid within 30 days of the laid down dates, a fine of Rs. 50.00 per day will be imposed for two months.
  • College Dues will be increased by 10% annually.

Withdrawal Policy

  • Cadets failing in annual promotion examination are made to repeat the same class.
  • If they do not show improvement in academic performance and fail for the second time, they are withdrawn from the college.
  • Cadets involved in violation of discipline/College rules are also withdrawn.
  • The decision of the College Discipline Committee will be taken as final and cannot be challenged in court.
  • Cadets failing in send up Examination are also made to repeat the class or expelled on the desire of parents.

The Papers of General Science, Mathematics, English, Urdu, Islamiyat and Pakistan Study will be as per following Pattern:

 Max Time: 120 Minutes

  1. Mathematics: 20 Marks
  2. English: 20 Marks
  3. Urdu: 20 Marks
  4. Islamiyat: 15 Marks
  5. Pakistan Study: 15 Marks
  6. General Science: 60 Marks (Further distribution is given below)
  • Physics related Chapters: 20 Marks
  • Chemistry related Chapters: 20 Marks
  • Biology related Chapters: 20 Marks

( B ).   Subjective Paper

The papers of Mathematics, English and Urdu will be as per the given model Paper:

Max Time: 60 Minutes

  1. Mathematics: 20 Marks
  2. English: 15 Marks
  3. Urdu: 15 Marks

NOTE: Parents are requested to prepare their wards for the test from the textbooks of Class 7 published by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board Peshawar or Punjab Textbook Board Lahore. Furthermore, they are also requested to educate their wards about how to attempt questions on OMR Sheet.
