About Military Engineering Service (MES)
The Military Engineering Service (MES) in Pakistan is a critical component of the country’s defense infrastructure, operating under the Ministry of Defence. It plays a pivotal role in planning, designing, and constructing military infrastructure, including buildings, roads, airfields, bridges, and more. MES is tasked with the comprehensive management of engineering and construction projects, ensuring the operational readiness and sustainability of military facilities.
MES operates through four wings, each dedicated to a different branch of the armed forces, including the Army, Navy, PAF (Pakistan Air Force), and Defence Production. Each wing is headed by a Director of Works & Chief Engineer (DW&CE) of the rank of Brigadier or equivalent, ensuring close liaison, effective control, deliberate planning, and efficient execution of work services.
